The Dutch national surveillance of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales from 2016 to 2021 revealed a genetic cluster of 17 Escherichia coli ST38 isolates from phylotype D and producing the OXA-244 carbapenemase. Isolates carry multiple putative urovirulence factors, harbor a MDR plasmid, and were retrieved from urine in 53% of the cases.
