V4 16S amplicon data produced from groundwater collected from 3 catchments in the Murray-Darling Basin (Macquarie-Bogan, Condamine, Gwydir) in December 2014 and January 2015. \nLineage: The full methods are described in the paper by Korbel et al (Scientific Reports 2017; 7: 40702). Water was extracted from wells in the 3 catchments, filtered and run through DNA extraction. This DNA was PCR-amplified using V4 16S primers and the resulting amplicons were sequenced using an Illumina MiSeq system.
