资源简介:
To understand the evolution of Y chromosomes of human and other primates, the Y chromosomes of two great apes (i.e., gorilla & chimpanzee) and one Old Wold monkey (i.e., rehesus macaque) have benn sequencesd using the traditional clone-based Sanger sequencing method. However, the Y chromosome from the lesser apes (gibbons), which are placed on the middle branch between the great apes and Old World monkeys in the tree of Primates and thus are critical to the understanding of the evolution of primate Y chromosomes, has not been sequenced yet. To fill this knowledge gap, we aim to sequence the gibbon Y chromosme by taking advantage of the long-read capacity offered by the novel third generation sequencing methods such as the 10x Genomics and PacBio etc.
