The whole genome sequence is assembled due to the need of genomic insights for ACE2-like enzymes. By knowing the full genome, we are able to determine which gene codes protein that is able to mimic the structural/functionality of human ACE2. By doing this, we are able to engineer a novel protein that is able to inhibit the SARS-CoV-2 spike from binding to the human ACE2 by competitive inhibitory effect.
