Effects of co-infection on behavioural traits of experimentally infected pumpkinseed sunfish (Lepomis gibbosus) [Laurentides, Québec, 2022]

Data were collected from May to September 2023, at the Station de Biologie des Laurentides, Québec, Canada. The purpose of the data was to look at the effects of an experimental co-infection (with trematodes and cestodes) in a semi-natural environment (using caging in a lake with a high prevalence of parasite, i.e. Lake Cromwell) on the behavioural traits (i.e. exploration, activity and boldness) of 60 pumpkinseed sunfish (Lepomis gibbosus). For each specimen taken, we recorded boldness, exploration, activity measures, mass and length measures, number of black spots before the experimental infection, after the experimental infection on the body, in the muscles, number of cestodes alive vs dead.
