The relationship between neonatal hyperglycemia, neonatal illness, and 3-year outcomes in extremely preterm infants

This dataset was collected to investigate the association between neonatal hyperglycemia during the first month of life and perinatal characteristics, neonatal morbidities, and developmental outcomes at 3 years of age in extremely preterm (EPT) infants.Blood glucose levels were measured as part of the morning routine blood tests in EPT infants managed in our NICU from birth. Hyperglycemia severity was defined by the number of measurements exceeding two cut-off values (150 mg/dL and 180 mg/dL). Developmental outcomes at 3 years of age were assessed using standardized developmental tests.This dataset includes blood glucose levels of the study subjects, perinatal characteristics, frequency of hyperglycemia above each threshold, neonatal morbidities, and developmental test results at 3 years of age.
