Tinted lantern slide showing a group of women, including one man. The women stand on a grass plain with a basket in the foreground of the picture. Their dress and elaborate jewellery implies that they are members of the Tharu nationality, an ethnic group from the southern foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal. This slide comes from a collection created by missionaries from Regions Beyond Missionary Union, an interdenominational Protestant evangelical mission working in northeast India (Bihar and Orissa) and Nepal.
