3D point cloud statue dataset

This dataset contains 3D point clouds of a medium-sized statue captured from eight different viewing angles (0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, 225°, 270°, and 315°) using a custom-built low-cost laser scanning system. The dataset was originally generated and analyzed during the doctoral thesis of Tuba Kurban (currently Tuba Çağlıkantar) at Erciyes University (2014), titled Processing of Point Clouds for Modeling 3D Objects Using Heuristic Optimization Methods. The data has not been published elsewhere except as part of the doctoral thesis and is first being shared publicly here to ensure reproducibility and enable future research. The dataset was also evaluated in a manuscript submitted to Journal of Imaging (3D Point Cloud Registration with Full Affine Transformations Optimized by Evolutionary Algorithms) but was not previously released as a public dataset.
