"Model of a Communication Channel Based on FIR Digital Filter"

"A model of a communication channel designed to transmit rectangular discrete signals is presented, based on a linear digital filtering algorithm. The resulting model is constructed using a method that takes into account the required characteristics of the communication channel and the statistical properties of the transmitted signal. General mathematical expressions are derived, based on which it is possible to obtain a vector of digital filter coefficients for modeling a physical communication channel used for data transmission in computing technology for organizing information communication networks. Computational experiments were performed to determine the order of the modeling non-recursive digital filter and its coefficients. It is shown that with a finite filter order, it is possible to achieve a minimum root-mean-square modeling error, which, subsequently, cannot be improved under given conditions determined by the nature of the transmitted data and the sampling frequency."
