Indian River Lagoon (IRL) Seagrass Persistence

Seagrasses represent a key structural habitat in the IRL that has been stressed more severely since 2011, primarily due to shading by intense and extensive blooms of phytoplankton. Persistence is defined as the number of consecutive maps in which a given polygon of seagrass is present. Persistence is determined for each reach across the 13 years with maps between 1996 and 2023.
