Comparison between diploid and triploid liver tissue from coho salmon using RNAseq

The goal of this project was to characterize gene expression differences between diploid and triploid liver samples from coho salmon. In an evolutionary context, this information gives us insight into how genome duplication in the ancestors of salmonids could have influenced gene expression. From a fisheries management and aquaculture perspective, this information could help shed light on the potential and the risks related to triploidy as a technology.
