Opinion dynamics and public cognition evolution based on bertopic analysis of generative artificial intelligence technology

The goal of this study is to analyze the dynamic changes and cognitive evolution of generative AI, especially ChatGPT, in public opinion. The dataset is based on the Weibo platform and contains 221,564 public Weibo contents about generative AI from January 2023 to September 2024. The study applies the BERTopic model for topic extraction and combines keyword co-occurrence network analysis to reveal the public discussion hotspots and their evolution paths about the technology in different periods. By analyzing Weibo text data, the study reveals the public's cognitive dynamics on the application of generative AI technology in different fields and its potential risks.
