Four decades of climate-biology covariation in Alaskan and North Pacific ecosystems, 1965-2011, NPRB Project 1024, Litzow, M.

These data are the first principal component (PC) for eight large-scale climate index time series, the first and second
PCs for 23 climate parameter time series from the northeast Pacific (southern California to the Bering Sea) and the first and
second PCs for 64 biology time series from the same area of the northeast Pacific. These time series were first published by
Steven Hare and Nate Mantua in 2000 (Progress in Oceanography 47:103-145). We updated the time series for 1965-2011 (for climate data)
and 1965-2008 (for biology data). These datasets were archived as part of the North Pacific Research Board legacy project recovery effort undertaken by Axiom Data Science and NPRB in 2025. The goal of the recovery effort was to assess the NPRB-funded data projects from 2002 to 2014 and archive final data packages that were ready for publication to increase long-term accessibility and discoverability. Data packages were archived as is given limited funding and resources.
