Gut Microbiota Profiling in Active Spreading Vitiligo Using Shotgun Metagenomic Sequencing

This study investigates the gut microbiome composition and metabolic pathways in patients with active spreading vitiligo compared to healthy controls using shotgun whole-genome sequencing. By analyzing microbial diversity, taxonomic differences, and pathway enrichments, this research aims to elucidate potential microbial contributions to vitiligo pathogenesis. The findings provide insights into the gut-skin axis and may help identify microbiota-based therapeutic targets for autoimmune skin diseases.
