We propose to perform a thorough investigation of the phase diagram of rhodium up to 150 GPa and 6000 K combining laser-heated diamond anvil cell and X-ray diffraction techniques. In particular, as part of the PhD Project of Mr. Jose Luis Rodrigo, we will perform the first experimental characterization of the melting curve of rhodium and verify the stability field of its cubic phase. The obtained results will be then compared with ab initio calculations we will run in parallel. This study also builds upon the previous RH-DAC experiment conducted with rhodium at the ESRF (HC-5256), the results of which have recently been accepted for publication in Scientific Reports.
