资源简介:
The Vertical Profiler Platform Base was deployed on 2009-08-25 at Barkley Upper Slope. Upper Slope is a location within Barkley Canyon, which is located on the upper continental slope. This device is a Vertical Profiler System Base. A Vertical Profiler System (also known as an off-shore profiling system) is a mobile instrument platform that consists of a seafloor base unit and an instrument package that floats on a tethered cable. A winch on the base unit raises and lowers the instrument package. Cable spooled from the base is long enough for the instrument package to extend to the surface, collecting data throughout the water column. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
