La2-4 genome. Novimethylophilus kurashikiensis strain:La2-4

La2-4, a new lanthanides-dependent methylotrophic bacterial strain, was isolated from the rhizosphere soil of Japanese black-purple rice (Oryza sativa L. japonica). According to 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strain La2-4 is distantly related to Methylophilus luteus MimT (93.4%), therefore, La2-4 is regarded as a new species of a new genus. The genome of the strain was sequenced with MiSeq to elucidate its genomic basis for lanthanides-dependent methylotrophy.
