Dataset for: Effect of Surfactant on the Dynamics of a Crude Oil Droplet in Water Column: Experimental and Numerical Investigation

This dataset reports the effects of Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) surfactant on crude oil droplet dynamics in the water column. Various concentrations of SDS surfactant were used (0-750 ppm) which was added to the continuous phase, water. Droplets ranging between 3 to 8.5 mm were generated from nozzles made of Borosilicate or steel (ID from 1.0 mm to 8.5 mm). Droplet diameter, velocity, aspect ratio, and were measured experimentally and allied Computational Fluid Dynamics model was developed using traditional Volume of Fluid approach to emulate the experimental observations.
