ParkinSenseDB: Wearable and Optoelectronic Sensor Data for Gait Disorders in Parkinson’s Disease

The ParkinSenseDB dataset comprises data collected in a study protocol aimed at assessing gait disorders and distinguishing between healthy subjects and individuals affected by Parkinson's disease (PD). Data were acquired at Bioengineering & Biomedicine Company Srl, San Giovanni Teatino (CH), Itlay, using an optoelectronic system and wearable sensors, including surface electromyography (sEMG), tri-axial accelerometers, tri-axial gyroscopes, and tri-axial magnetometers, while participants performed an experimental protocol consisting of specific gait and mobility tests. The dataset includes measurements from a total of 53 participants, of whom 29 were diagnosed with PD and 24 served as control subjects. All participants provided written informed consent prior to enrollment, and data were treated confidentially and anonymized in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
