A yellow striped-leaf maize mutant is controlled by a single recessive gene. To map the causal gene, three F2 populations were generated by crossing the mutant with three wild-type inbred lines, including B73, Jing2416, and Jing724, respectively. In each of these F2 populations, the mutant RNA pool of 35 striped-leaf plants and the WT RNA pool of 35 wild-type plants were isolated for BSR-seq analysis.
