The Connection between Compassion and Job Satisfaction: A Serial Mediation of Sense of Community and OCB

This study investigates how compassion influences job satisfaction through the sequential mediating roles of sense of community and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) among managerial employees in Indian manufacturing firms. Using data from 412 employees in Chhattisgarh and analysing it through PLS-SEM, the findings show that compassion significantly enhances sense of community, OCB, and job satisfaction. Additionally, sense of community and OCB both directly and sequentially mediate this relationship. The study contributes by integrating these variables into a unified serial mediation framework within the relatively underexplored manufacturing context in India.
