## **Abstract** \n\nThe dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement.\n\nThe processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement. \n\n\n\nThis dataset contains the Galilee analytic element groundwater model. It has the various input files, the model script and executable and representative examples of the various output files. It also contains the script to generate an example drawdown time series.\n\nThe model is documented in product 2.6.2 for the Galilee subregion (Peeters et al. 2016).\n\n\n\nPeeters L, Turnadge C, Ransley T, Kilgour P, Kellet J and Evans T (2016) Groundwater numerical modelling for the Galilee subregion. File GAL_AEM_Flowchart.pptx has a flowchart on how the various files interact and are linked.\n\n\n\nSubdirectory 'inputs' contains the csv-input files. \n\n'inputs/GAL_Alluvium_Line.csv' is a linear feature that represents the connection between the upper Permian coal measures and the Cenozoic/alluvial cover. It's position is based on the extent of the Cenozoic cover sediments (from dataset Surface Geology of Australia, 1:2 500 000 scale, 2012 edition).\n\n'inputs/GAL_BCB.csv' is a linear feature representing the eastern extent of the upper Permian coal measures, based on the extent of the Betts Creek Beds formation (from dataset Surface Geology of Australia, 1:2 500 000 scale, 2012 edition).\n\n'inputs/GAL_mine_footprints.csv' are polygons representing a coarse discretisation of the proposed open pit coal mines (from dataset GAL 262 mine footprints).\n\n'inputs/GAL_mine_Q_MLd.csv' are the mine pumping rates as reported in Prendegast and Davidson (2014)\n\n'inputs/GAL_outputnodes.csv' are the locations at which drawdowns are simulated. These locations are selected during the model development and have their greatest density close to the mine footprints.\n\n'inputs/GAL_receptors.csv' are the locations of the receptors included in the groundwater model (from dataset GAL_model_HRV_Receptors_gdb)\n\n'inputs/GAL_river.csv' is a coarse discretisation of the Belyando River channel (based on dataset Geoscience Australia GEODATA TOPO series - 1:1 Million to 1:10 Million scale).\n\n\n\nThe parameter combinations evaluated in the groundwater model are specified in dataset GAL_Models_HRV in file GAL_AEM_dmax_Posterior_Parameters.csv.\n\n\n\nThe input files and parameter combinations are integrated in python script 'GAL_AEM.py' which calls python package ttim to solve the groundwater model. ttim is available from https://pypi.python.org/pypi/ttim/0.3.1.\n\nTo run all parameter combinations on the high performance computing centre cluster computers, the batch file GAL_AEM.slurm can be used which runs each of the parameter combinations in GAL_AEM_dmax_Posterior_Parameters.csv.\n\n\n\nThe outputs of each iteration are stored in subdirectory 'outputs'. The output files end in the runid of each parameter combination.\n\n\n\n'GAL_AEM_Qb_0000.csv' contains the change in surface water groundwater exchange flux for each reach in the Belyando River. The reaches correspond to the reaches defined in the surface water model\n\n'GAL_AEM_receptors_0000.csv' contains the maximum drawdown and time to maximum drawdown for each receptor.\n\n'GAL_AEM_dmax_nodes_0000.csv' contains the maximum drawdown for all the computational output nodes\n\n'GAL_AEM_tmax_nodes_0000.csv' contains the time to maximum drawdown for all the computational output nodes\n\n\n\nPython script GAL_AEM_ddn_ts.py uses the same input files and python package to generate a drawdown timeseries for parameter combination 1980.
