Attitudes of Slovene public toward police

In Slovenia the ratio of supporting parliamentary democracy is in generally comparable to the European level. However studies which place Slovenia in comparable context of European countries show that Slovenia lags behind in a field of expressed trust in institutions of democratic system. Trust in institutions depends greatly on context which is formed by political culture and democratic tradition of a country. Condition of political culture influences on support of law system and repressive institutions. All comparative studies show that Slovenia is closer to new democracy of post-transition society that it is to older democracies, but with visible trend of moving away from transition pattern. This is shown as growth of trust in fundamental institutions of democratic system.
