资源简介:
These two files contain data on the (1)specimen and (2)isotope value data in the manuscript "Carbon source estimation of Banggai cardinalfish, Pterapogon kauderni otoliths using a novel tracer Δ14C: New implications for fish metabolism and otolith calcification".
(1)Specimen dataColumn:Sample number: Numbers to distinguish each specimen.Spawning date (dd/mm/yyyy): Spawning date of each specimen.Sampling date (dd/mm/yyyy): Sampling date of each specimen.Age (days): Age at the time of sampling.Standard length (cm): Standard length of each specimen. for specimen C13, standard length was not conducted as the head became detached from the body.Weight (g): Weight of each specimenΔ14C analysis: Indicates whether the Δ14C analysis was conducted. "Y" indicates that the analysis was conducted, whereas "N" indicates that the analysis was not conducted.δ13C analysis: Indicates whether the δ13C analysis was conducted. The same symbols are used as for Δ14C analysis.
(2) Isotope value dataColumn for endmember values:Type: Indicates the type of end-members (seawater, diet-moist pellet, diet-krill).Column for otolith data:Sample number: Numbers to distinguish each specimen; same numbers are used for (1)Specimen data.Moto: Contribution of metabolic carbon to otolith; 0 indicates that all carbon are derived from seawater dissolved inorganic carbon, whereas 1 indicates that all carbon are derived from metabolic sources.εtotal (‰): Isotopic enrichment factor of carbon sources to otolith.・For radiocarbon analysis, δ13C values were measured by AMS and were only used for the calculation of Δ14C values.・For stable carbon isotope analysis, δ13C values were measured by IRMS and were only used for the calculation of εtotal.
