The goal of this project is to characterize a yeast probiotic capable of secreting an ICI payload, measure the probiotics tumor burden reducing efficacy in a murine model of colorectal cancer, and investigate the mechanistic role of systemic and localized immunological response and gut microbiome in the probiotic mediated tumor reduction. This project is relevant because it provides a potentially novel treatment option to treat colorectal cancer and while investigating how the treatment reduces colorectal tumor burden.
