Our study aims to illustrate the effects of kanamycin and ampicillin on the gut microbiome of American cockroaches. Kanamycin (0.3 mg/ml-1) and ampicillin (0.3 mg/ml-1) were administered to cockroach guts for 10 and 20 days. The microbial communities in the cockroach guts were determined using the 16S rRNA gene of universal bacteria by Illumina sequencing.
