Enterococcus faecium strain:AE-126 Genome sequencing

With the intention of finding clinically and therapeutically relevant bacteriophages that target Streptococcus suis for porcine farms, bacteriophages(ATCC 19951-B2) and host (ATCC 19951) were purchased to act as isolation controls. Plaque formation of the control bacteriophage on a collection of S. suis strain led to the full genome sequencing of both control phage and bacteria. Sequencing results revealed both to be a Enterococcus targeting phage and Enterococcus faecium bacteria respectively.
