RaAPOBEC3s were overexpressed in 293T cells, followed by infection of HSV-1. We repeated the infection for five passages and extracted the HSV-1 genome for high-throughput sequencing to assess the editing effect of RaAPOBEC3s on dsDNA virus and to investigate their impact on the virus's evolution.
