Both heat stress and exogenous beta-adrenergic agonists alter cattle performance in part by stimulating the adrenergic system. The interaction between heat stress and the supplementation of beta-adrenergic agonists in cattle has not been well characterized. The objective of this study was to understand the independent and interacting effects of beta-adrenergic agonist supplementation and heat stress on the longissimus dorsi muscle and subcutaneous adipose transcriptome of beef cattle.
