Dung beetles were sampled using standardised baited (with human dung) pitfall traps spaced 100 apart. A total of 145 traps were sampled across the study, in primary forest, secondary forest and cattle pasture. Each set of traps were set-up in the field for four days, re-baited (with old bait removed) after 48 hours and beetle samples collected every 24 hours. All individuals were identified to species or morpho-species. Species determinations were made by; F. Edwards, C. A. Medina, A. Gonzalez, and J. S. Cardenas at the Instituto Alexander von Humboldt, Colombia. Specimens from this project are also deposited at the Instituto Alexander von Humboldt, Colombia.
