资源简介:
This report summarizes the results of the 1996 season of fieldwork conducted by the
Rudd Creek Archaeological Project (RCAP) as part of the Arizona State University
Archaeological Field School at the Sipe White Mountain Wildlife Area. This field school
derives from a long-term research project focused on prehistoric developments in the Cibola
region. The 1996 excavations at Rudd Creek Pueblo (AZ Q:16:63 [ASM]) focused on two main
goals. The first goal was to document the architecture and artifacts of Rudd Creek Pueblo in
order to understand the relationship between this site and other settlements located in the
headwater region of the Upper Little Colorado River. The second goal was to record the extent
of pothunting activity at the site and undertake basic stabilization measures to mitigate this
damage.
