The series comprises a number of different types of deed. They are :1. Transfer of Schools (4 deeds)2. Bushfire Relief Fund (1 deed)3. School Insurance Policies (3 deeds)4. Scholarships (1 deed)5. War Relief Fund (1 deed)1. The deeds regarding transfer of schools are Agreements made between the Governing Body of the School and His Excellency the Governor of Victoria in Council for the transfer of the control of the said school from the Governing Body to the Education Department of Victoria. These deeds are a legal document transferring control and the real and personal property of the school from the Governing Body to the Minister of Education. All liabilities and obligations of the school were transferred to the Minister, and any gifts made to the school were to be used for said purpose.The deeds list, in Schedule One, a statement of the assets and liabilities, in monetary terms, of the school, and in Schedule Two, a statement of the names, classifications and salaries of all persons employed on the staff of the school.The deed was concluded with the signatures and seals of all parties concerned, ie. the Governor of Victoria, and each member of the Governing Body of the school, duly witnessed.2. The deed pertaining to the Bushfire Relief Fund was made between the Director of Education and a certain Victorian school teacher (the present trustees) of the one part, and the additional trustees of the other part regarding certain monies raised as the result of a special appeal in State Schools for the relief of children who suffered through bushfires. The deed was created to appoint the additional trustees to be trustees of the said fund jointly with the present trustees, and to oversee the distribution of monies to any child who would suffer as a result of a future bushfire. The deed was signed and sealed by the five individuals concerned and duly witnessed.3. The school insurance policies comprise policies for damage caused by fire and for damage to plate glass. The policies list a policy number, name of the policy holder (usually the head teacher), amount of insurance, property insured, address of property, expiry date of policy. The premium is stated, as is a list of the buildings on the property and the sum that each individual building is insured for. The policies have been signed, dated, and witnessed.On the back of the policies is a signed statement by the head teacher transferring the benefit of the policy to the Minister of Education4. The George and William Benjamin CHAFFEY University Scholarship was open to students of Mildura High School who were eligible to enter their names at the University of Melbourne as matriculated students. This deed transfers control of the fund which contains the money to provide for the scholarship to the Minister of Education.5. In the year 1914, a war relief fund was opened by the Education Department for the purpose of providing comforts for members of the naval or military forces of the Commonwealth of Australia engaged for service outside the Commonwealth in the war then existing between His Majesty and Germany and other belligerents and for relieving distress occasioned by such war. The deed is completed with signatures of all members of the Executive Committee - 55 in all, with the name, address, occupation, signature, and seal of each member, and the signature of a witness. This deed also includes a few pieces of correspondence.
