Whole genome sequencing analysis of MRSA

The molecular epidemiology data of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureusbacteremia in Slovenia are lacking. The aim of this study was toinvestigate the phenotypically and genotypically 82 MRSA strains isolated from the patients with bloodstream infection in a central region of Slovenia in period 2019–2022. Whole genome sequencing of the selected strains was performed to characterize the strains according to sequence typing, antimicrobial resistance, toxin,and virulence factors genes carriage.
