The complete genome sequence of an enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli strain ETEC1. Escherichia coli

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC), one of diarrheagenic E. coli, are most common case of diarrhea of the developing country, and in travelers to those areas. In this study, the genome of ETEC1, which is an ETEC strain isolated from diarrheal patient, was sequenced. Notably, the ETEC1 genome was revealed to possess genes encoding enterotoxins STh, LT1, and EAST1, and colonization factors CS2 and CS3.
