Motives of the French who might abstain in the presidential election first round 2022

Nearly a third of French people registered on the electoral lists who might not go to vote in the first round of the presidential elections on April 10, 2022 say they want to abstain because they have the impression that no matter which political party is in power, the policy being pursued is the same. The second reason mentioned is the inadequacy of the electoral offer: for more than a quarter of the people interviewed, the candidates currently running are not suitable. The figures collected by the various polling institutes suggest that the abstention rate will be high for these elections, especially among young people.
