VPRS 19225 Index to Finance Committee Minutes

This series comprises indices to the Finance Committee minutes of the Royal Melbourne Hospital (VA 1048). The records in this series control the minutes in VPRS 19096 Finance and Audit Committee, Minutes and Papers. The original function of the Finance Committee was to maintain a broad oversight of the RMH’s financial and budgetary arrangements in order to ensure that the Board of Management’s financial policies were appropriate and effective. Additionally, the Committee made recommendations on the investment of funds, and raising of funds including government grants for both maintenance and capital purposes. In 1972 the Finance Committee was dissolved, and its activities assumed by the Executive Committee (For minutes of the Executive Committee see VPRS 19098). This corresponds with the last index in this series. Additionally, an index to the Finance Committee minutes for 1920-1923 exists in the back of the Finance Committee Minute Book (found in VPRS 19096) for 1920-1932 starting on page 301. Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Archives.
