Composizione e provenienza del bitume presente su alcuni frammenti ceramici rinvenuti a Roca

Some ceramic samples from different Bronze Age layers of Roca (Lecce) and containing traces of bitumen have been studied to identify the nature and origin of the organic substance. Gas chromatography coupled to both single and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry was used to determine the chemical composition of the bitumen. In addition, bitumens coming from different areas of the central Mediterranean sea have been analyzed as reference samples to study the provenance, through geochemical analysis techniques. The results obtained will be reported in the work.
