QED - Languages Other than English in Schools (Point) 2017

This dataset presents the footprint of Languages Other Than English (LOTE) offered in Queensland state schools by school for the year of 2017. The data is presented in matrix form, where the values in the Language columns indicate whether the school offers that specific language at primary year levels (P), secondary year levels (S) or both primary and secondary year levels (P/S).\n\nFor further information about this dataset, please visit the [Queensland Department of Education - Languages in Schools.](https://qed.qld.gov.au/publications/reports/statistics/schooling/schools)\n\nPlease note:\n\n * AURIN has spatially enabled this data using the [Queensland Department of Education - State and Non State School Listings](https://schoolsdirectory.eq.edu.au/).\n\n * Data is made available through a AURIN-QCIF-RIDL collaboration.\n\n * Where less than 3 persons responded to a given question, the 'Total Agreement' response was left blank.\n\n * The data excludes Special Schools, schools that did not teach a language in Semester 1 and schools where all students were exempt from participating in mandatory year levels. The data has been sourced from collections in Semester 1, 2017 which collect student enrolments by language subjects.\n\n * Data excludes 'tutorial language' classes as it is considered these students would already be counted in the language class.\n\n * Data excludes 'Intercultural investigations' classes as it is considered these students are not engaged in a language acquisition program.\n\n * Data for 'LOTE' includes Indigenous languages and language classes where the language has not been specified.\n
