The volumes contain office copies of correspondence between the Governor, the Colonial Secretary, the Clerk of the Council and the Judges of the Supreme Court. The majority of letters received are covering letters enclosing acts for routine ratification and enrolment. Letters sent acknowledge receipt and enrolment.By s.22 of the Act 9 Geo. IV C83 every law or ordinance of the Legislative Council was to be submitted within 7 days, to the Judges of the Supreme Court, to be enrolled and recorded.
