Companion dataset for CARLA in Intelligent Vehicle Research: A Study-Level Survey of Applications, Methods and Validation Evidence in 230 Studies

This dataset accompanies “CARLA in Intelligent Vehicle Research: A Study-Level Survey of Applications, Methods and Validation Evidence in 230 Studies.” It contains screening decisions for 684 Scopus records, ordering scores and study-level coding for a stratified sample of 230 studies published in 2022–2025, full-text verification for 41 studies, completed independent coding for 46 studies, codebooks, audit records and analysis scripts. Eight of 11 metadata-uncertain records were subsequently confirmed to use CARLA; three remain unresolved. Most primary classifications are based on bibliographic metadata. Sample frequencies are not prevalence estimates for the entire CARLA literature. Scopus abstracts and keywords are not redistributed.
