Earthworm count with soil data in a Natura2000 forest near the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Szent István Campus, Gödöllő, Hungary

Earthworms were collected from 25x25x25 cm holes in five replicates. Soil profile was examined with a Pürckhauer-type core sampler. Soil temperature was measured on the top, in the middle and at the bottom of the hole. Soil color was examined with Munsell Soil Color Chart. Soil parameters were measured by the near-infrared device of Agrocares Ltd (the Netherlands): pH(H2O), soil organic matter (%), P (M3) (mg/kg), total phosphorous nitrogen (g/kg), exchangeable K, Mg and Ca (mmol/kg), organic carbon (g/kg), potentially mineralizable nitrogen (g/kg), cation exchange capacity (mmol/kg), total Al (g/kg), total Fe (g/kg) and total Zn (ppm), clay (%). Soil moisture was measured in fresh state and after air-drying.
