Multiple samples from different regions and severities of IPF disease were collected and methylation analysis was performed. The bisulfite conversion of 500 ng genomic DNA was performed using the EZ DNA Methylation Kit (Zymo Research), and the bisulfite converted DNA was amplified, fragmented and hybridised to Illumina Infinium Human MethylationEPIC BeadChip Kit using standard Illumina protocol
