Chart - Application Accommodation Requests 2023 - Current Annual Statewide State

Accommodation data is available from 2023 through 2026. <B>Note:</B> 2026 data includes only the period from January 1 through May 1. The data shown here reflects the number of accommodation requests submitted to the Bureau of Professional & Occupational Affairs (BPOA) by individuals with disabilities who are applying to take their professional licensing exams. BPOA oversees 29 licensing boards. Some boards review and approve testing accommodations directly, while others rely on their testing agencies to manage these requests. Because each board collects this information differently, and only for certain application types, there is no standard question or universal requirement across all boards. Currently, BPOA collects accommodation request data through application questions for only two boards: the State Board of Nursing and the State Board of Physical Therapy. These questions cover exams for Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, and Physical Therapist Assistants. For most other boards, accommodation requests are handled solely by the testing agencies.
