Seasonal change in biomass and assemblage of Arctic eukaryota estimated by metagenome

Loss of marine biodiversity caused by global climate change is common urgent on Earth. Understanding substantial changes in marine biodiversity such as biomass, assemblage and geographical distribution due to multi environmental stressors is required from sustainable ecosystem services, although there is no effective method to survey the temporal change in marine biodiversity comparing modern data with those in the past. Here we report the new technique to extract marine metagenome stored in formaldehyde solution for long period.
