Partners: Marta Morozova, Kyle Ali, Ryan Ho, Shervin An area with short grass on the west side of the York Univeristy Keele Campus was chosen as the experiment location. A quadrat was laid out randomly in the short grass. The height of each grass in the quadrat was measured with a transect, and the average was calculated and noted. The number of insects found in that quadrat was also noted. Other details on the environment such as wind speed, temperature and weather were also noted. This was repeated 39 times. An area with tall grass on the west side of the York Univeristy Keele Campus was chosen as the experiment location. A quadrat was laid out randomly in the tall grass. The height of each grass in the quadrat was measured with a transect, and the average was calculated and noted. The number of insects found in that quadrat was also noted. A concrete sidewalk on the west side of the York Univeristy Keele Campus was chosen as the experiment location. A quadrat was laid out randomly on the sidewalk. The height of each grass in the quadrat was measured with a transect, and the average was calculated and noted. The number of insects found in that quadrat was also noted. Other details on the environment such as wind speed, temperature and weather were also noted. This was repeated 39 times.
