A Dataset of Earth Observation Data for Airstrip Detection

This dataset contains a curated collection of Sentinel-2 multispectral satellite images centered on airstrip locations across Brazil from the Earthrise Media Mining Detector data. It is designed to support research in remote sensing, computer vision, and machine learning tasks related to infrastructure detection, particularly the automated identification of airstrips in diverse Brazilian geographical and environmental contexts, from the Amazon rainforest to semi-arid regions.

The dataset includes Level-2A Sentinel-2 imagery at 10 m, 20 m, and 60 m spatial resolutions, spanning multiple spectral bands from the visible to shortwave infrared (SWIR) range. Images have been cropped into fixed-size tiles centered on airstrip coordinates, with associated metadata detailing acquisition date, geographic coordinates, and Sentinel-2 scene identifiers.
