White blood cell composition and total cell count in blood from WT and S100A9 KO mice, 24 and 48 hours after instillation with 9×108 CFU uropathogenic E. coli/mouse or 4.5×108 CFU/mouse. Sham mice were sacrificed 24 hours after inoculation with sterile PBS. Monocytes (mono), lymphocytes (lympho) and granulocytes (gran) are expressed as percentage of white blood cells. Total cell count (TCC) is presented as amount of white blood cells per ml. Data are mean ± SEM. (N = 6–8 per group).
