Welcome to the official documentation for HaptenDB, a specialized curated database designed to facilitate the development of successful immunochemical assays. HaptenDB provides a centralized resource for information on small molecules (haptens), the carrier proteins they are conjugated to, and the resulting anti-hapten antibodies. The production of high-specificity anti-hapten antibodies depends on hapten design, selection of the carrier protein, and the conjugation method. HaptenDB compiles this scattered information from published literature and web resources into a structured, easily accessible format. Database Statistics Haptens: Detailed information for 1,087 unique haptens. Carrier Proteins: Data for 25 different carrier proteins used in conjugation. Total Entries: Over 2,021 comprehensive entries providing chemical and immunological details. Key Features Search and Query Tools Simple Search: Quick retrieval based on hapten name, category, or carrier protein. Advanced Search: Complex multi-field querying using logical operators (AND/OR) to filter by specific chemical or experimental parameters. Browsing: Users can browse the database by hapten category, carrier protein type, or alphabetical order. Comprehensive Annotations Chemical Data: Information on molecular weight, chemical formula, and structure for each hapten. Conjugation Details: Details on the method of conjugation, site of attachment, and linkers used. Antibody Data: Information on the specificity and affinity of the resulting anti-hapten antibodies. Technical Overview HaptenDB is implemented using a robust architecture to ensure efficient data management and a user-friendly experience. Backend: Managed with a MySQL database for organized data storage. Web Interface: Developed using PHP and HTML to provide a responsive and easy-to-navigate platform.
