Klebsiella variicola strain:F2R9 (ATCC BAA-830) Genome sequencing

Klebsiella variicola was described as a new bacterial species in 2004, which is now part of the K. pneumoniae complex. Interesting advances have been described related to K. variicola; such as the development of different differentiation systems between the species of the K. pneumoniae complex, establishing their molecular epidemiology and enhancing comparative genomics of multidrug resistant isolates. We recommend using this genome to be used as the reference genome mainly for comparative genomics studies.
