Open trees

<p>This open data layer provides information about trees located across the municipality. It has been compiled from multiple sources, including Council tree records, field inspections, LiDAR-derived tree identification and other spatial datasets.</p><p>Available attributes may include tree location, address, common name, genus, species, trunk diameter, height, canopy cover, age class, condition, structural condition, life expectancy, inspection date and the presence of nearby infrastructure or utilities. Attribute availability, currency and accuracy may vary depending on the original data source and collection method.</p><p>The layer includes both trees managed by Council and trees identified from LiDAR or other spatial sources that may be located on land not managed by Council. All records include an asset identifier; however, the presence of an asset identifier does not indicate Council ownership or maintenance responsibility.</p><p>Trees identified from LiDAR and other remote-sensing sources are included to provide a broader, indicative representation of tree distribution, canopy and green space across the city. These records may contain positional inaccuracies, duplicate features, vegetation that is not a single tree, or trees that have since been removed or changed.</p><p>This dataset is intended for general information, mapping, planning and analysis. It should not be relied upon to determine tree ownership, Council maintenance responsibility, tree risk, legal boundaries, construction requirements or other matters requiring site-specific verification.</p>
